The Australian and Victorian governments are jointly funding the Inspiring Australia program in Victoria, with a local presence based at the Royal Society of Victoria.

The project will encourage excellence and community participation in STEM through major initiatives across the state, including National Science Week 2018, new citizen science projects, community forums, science talks and industry nights, and year-round activities in regional communities.

The joint venture will also lead to the establishment of STEM Hubs in the Whittlesea, Ballarat and Monash areas, which will partner with regional Tech Schools, universities and TAFE colleges to develop programs of engagement with emerging fields such as new health technologies and advanced manufacturing.

The new arrangements were announced by Senator the Hon Michaelia Cash, Acting Minister for Industry, Innovation and Science, and Philip Dalidakis, Minister for Trade & Investment, Innovation & the Digital Economy and Small Business.
